📚 Rules to Remember • Week 8
Rule 1 • /ā/ VCe Pattern
Words with /ā/ spelled vowel-consonant-silent e (came, name, take, grade). Silent e makes the vowel long.
[Deb] Rule 2 • /ā/ Spellings
/ā/ can be spelled a, a-e, ai, ay, ea, ei, and ey across various English word families.
Rule 3 • Silent E (Job 3)
Silent e causes c and g to say their soft sounds /s/ and /dʒ/ (age, page, face, place).
