💡 Phonics & Spelling Rules to Remember

📌 1. The -ck Spelling Rule

In single syllables, spell /k/ as -ck immediately following a single short vowel (back, crack, brick, stick).

📌 2. Long ī Patterns (-ind vs. -ine)

-ind (Wild): Vowel i is long before -nd (find, mind). -ine (VCe): Silent e makes i say its long name (fine, pine).

📌 3. Diacritical Marks Review

Place a breve ( ˘ ) over short vowels (ă, ĕ, ĭ) in closed syllables. Place a macron ( ¯ ) over long vowels (ā, ē, ī).
